At our Living Proof Live event in Tacoma this past weekend, we collected an offering for Samaritan’s Purse to use for relief to go directly to Japan. Those 6,300women (and a few brave men) gave extravagantly. EXTRAVAGANTLY. And Living Proof Ministries MATCHED IT.

Thank you, people of Tacoma. Thank you, LifeWay. Thank you, Living Proof Ministries. Thank you, Samaritan’s Purse.

As flabbergasted as I am over the generous spirits of these people, Jesus alone is stealing the show. Only He can take credit for changing and moving hearts to engage the body of Christ to BE THE BODY. To give. And serve. And turn outward. Selflessly.

You can join them. Please visit Samaritan’s Purse for more information. Let’s be generous.

We can give relief. But only God is the giver of mercy. Oh, Lord. Please have mercy on the people of Japan.

That brought tears to my eyes that we can give, but only God is the giver of mercy.
Lord have mercy on those people of Japan Lord touch them and heal them Lord.
    Thanks Travis for posting this

My favorite hymn is “What A Friend We Have in Jesus”. It is truly a privilege to carry everything to Him in prayer. It is also true that “oh what peace we often forfeit, oh what needless pain we bear, all because we do not carry, everything to God in prayer.” “Can we find a friend SO FAITHFUL(?), who will all our sorrows bear(?), Jesus knows our every weakness, take it to the Lord in prayer.” “Do you ever have friends who despise and forsake you(?), take it to the Lord in prayer. In His arms He’ll take and shield you so you can find a solace there.”

I have fallen in love with “In Christ Alone” It’s a modern hymn we sing in church and the Newsboys covered as well and my lovely local christian radio station blesses me by playing it sometimes.
IN CHRIST ALONE my hope is found,
    He is my light, my strength, my song;
    This Cornerstone, this solid Ground,
Firm through the fiercest drought and storm.
What heights of love, what depths of peace,
When fears are stilled, when strivings cease!
My Comforter, my All in All,
Here in the love of Christ I stand.
I can’t even read the lyrics in my head without feeling Christ’s overwhelming love.

I am so looking forward to our next Living Proof simulcast! Beth Moore and Travis Cottrell are an
unbeatable worship team. I’m believing GOD will open up many hearts that day. Two of my favorite hymns: Praise To The Lord (the almighty, the king of creation…) and Holy God We Praise
Thy Name. I know these are really old, but I never tire of them.
