The Bewildering Call of God

The Bewildering Call of God

Hey…I hope everyone is having a good week. I am still in Colorado. Beautiful Colorado. I am heading home tonight.

This entry from Tuesday’s My Utmost For His Highest was profound to me. Check it out. I hope it will be for you, too.

Wow…This is the second friend this week who has blogged about Tuesday’s Oswald!

Obviously a message He is wanting me to see!

    Blessings,

God gave Oswald Chambers such a keen insight and discernment of the scriptures that My Utmost for His Highest has become my daily morning devotion for going on 3 years now. Going through just once was not enough because I was completely overwhelmed at the profoundness of just about every entry. I highly recommend this devotional book.
Thanks for sharing Travis because the call of God is definitely bewildering.

I am glad that you listened to the call of God’s voice (like the sea). It is such a blessing to so many!!

Hope that last night went wonderfully and that the rain did not get you guys up there. Wish we could have been there!

    Praying for your family today.

Dang, you are right… That is awesome…

“If we have a purpose of our own, it destroys the simplicity and the calm, relaxed pace which should be characteristic of the children of God.”

I so needed to read this right now!!!!

    Hey Travis,

Thanks for the Word. I am still in the midst of questioning some things that are happening to a dear, sweet child in my life. I am really struggling with all the ‘whys’ that are concerned. It’s the little girl I have told you about in the past. The doctors have confirmed that she definitely has tumors on both sides of her brain and she has lost even more of her hearing. They are now trying to decide what action to take but they have to be very careful because of her other health concerns. So please continue to pray for her and her family. She is so precious, I can’t even begin to tell ya.

I’m not sure if you check comments from older posts but I thought ya’ll might enjoy this video: http://www.mychurch.org/blog/30635. It is really cool.

    Thanks so much!

Travis, this post helped me to write about something I haven’t been able to write about (publicly) for months. I pray God continues to bless your ministry and your family. Thanks for sharing through your blog.

    In Christ,
    Anita

Good stuff there…. Thanks for posting it. I have that devo book on my bookshelf collecting dust right now… Read it for years… I have been reading Chuck Swindoll and David Jeremiah recently. But I had forgotten about that particular entry…

See you tomorrow night at the Symphony Center!

“A Christian is someone who trusts in the knowledge and the wisdom of God, not in his own abilities.”

This is the part of this that really reached out and grabbed me. As we each pursue our callings from God, it is of utmost importance that we completely rely on God’s wisdom and knowledge to do the thing and not our own. It is all too easy to get caught up in your own press and believe what others say but that is so not where godly success lies.

It is my desire to rely only and always on Him!! Thanks for sharing this.

It’s “Colorful Colorado.” At least that’s what the welcome sign said when we just drove through. 🙂

You rocked Estes, Travis! The only thing I disliked was that you only got to sing three songs. Worship on Thursday morning was wonderful as well.

I’ve known what God has called me to do for almost 15 years now and yet I always tried to find an excuse to ignore it. A few weeks ago I finally heeded His call and declared to Him that I am available.

My mother gave me “My Utmost for His Highest” two years ago. I must have read only a few pages until a few days ago on August 5. I was looking for some confirmation from the Lord asking Him to speak to me about my calling. Let me just say that I got a confirmation and along with it peace and joy that I have never felt before.

Now, all I long for is to seek His face.

Okay, I am frantic here. Ever since Living Proof in Lu-a-vul, I have been playing the song “This is the Day” over and over in my head love it, love it. love it. I find it is not available at this time for purchase or download anywhere my eyes have searched. OHTHESORROW. Therefore I’ve been forced to replay it in my mind. Well, I woke up this morning, and it was, ur, GONE!! I can’t remember the tune at all!! I strongly suspect it is because I fell asleep singing the theme to Lavern and Shirley… long story, regardless of how it happened, I am left tuneless for the most wonderful song I have EVER.EVER heard. I lament this loss and have seriously considered tearing my clothes and huntin’ me up some sackcloth, (what exactly is sackcloth?)
Can this be found ANYWHERE, at ANY price? Well, not really ANY price, $19.99 or less would be great……

    Please HELP!
