Better than Funyuns. I just have to say that I threw up once after eating Combos, still makes me gag just seeing the bag like 15 years later.

  2. Kelli on September 24, 2008 at 8:54 pm

Oh my gosh – I just spit my drink because that made me laugh of surprise!!

Oh it was always SO fun at our house when mom was away! πŸ™‚

  3. Dori on September 24, 2008 at 9:08 pm

Something about these two blog posts reminds me of that old Bill Cosby routine where he feeds his children chocolate cake for breakfast because cake has “eggs and flour and milk…”

Somehow I believe Angela will understand!

  4. laughing out loud on September 24, 2008 at 9:20 pm

I’ll sleep better knowing they had their veggies…could have been fries too…or how about a strawberry shake…that could be a good stand in for your fruit quota…I really can not say too much because when I get away, my husband makes his ONE dish…and it is very scary…it is called…don’t judge us…weenies chili and cheese. My Lord, it is like a heartattack in a baking dish…it is very scary…BUT THEY LOVE IT!!!!!

  5. Adam on September 25, 2008 at 3:24 am

hmmm… Burger King Onion rings.. those are pretty good..

  6. Cindy on September 25, 2008 at 4:34 am

You are going to have those kid spoiled rotten by the time Angela gets home.

  7. lavonda on September 25, 2008 at 6:14 am

Just have them brush their teeth really good every day and you’re home free.

  8. HisTreasuredPossession on September 25, 2008 at 7:03 am

    um yeah, stinking hilarious!

  9. Anonymous on September 25, 2008 at 7:13 am

Angela will never stand for a shoddy reasoning. There’s a BK 2 miles from the church — the opposite direction from your house — and one 2 miles past your house the other way. Sounds like Daddy just needed some ‘rangs! You’re busted.

  10. Way More Homemade on September 25, 2008 at 9:03 am

Well, at least the Ketchup counts, right?

As a mom I have to say there’s nothin’ better for the kids than time with “Fun-Dad.”

I love D.C. I hope she has a wonderful time!

  11. Holly on September 25, 2008 at 9:34 am

“Dad is Great! Gives us Chocolate Cake!” Go on with your bad self, Mr. Cosby. πŸ™‚

Praying for Angela, as she travels home.

  12. JayCee on September 25, 2008 at 10:33 am

You’ve got some great daddy skills going on there!

  13. hisfivefooter on September 25, 2008 at 11:14 am

Well, all I can say is at least you know the difference! You sound so secure, confident, dare-I-say it, Cocky? Oh ye of little faith, I am sure those darling little angels of yours will put you in your place! Remember, some one must pay the price for niceness, better cooking, snacks, etc. Now is your time, today is the day! Good luck friend, you are going to need it!

  14. Kelly S. on September 25, 2008 at 11:47 am

BK does have “apple fries”. My kids actually like them.

  15. Mary on September 25, 2008 at 11:48 am

Now all you need are some Slim Jims for protein and you are set!

  16. ocean mommy on September 25, 2008 at 11:51 am

    Oh….you are a funny one.

  17. donna on September 25, 2008 at 1:46 pm

You know what is better then Burger King Onion rings? Sonic’s onion rings!! yummmyyy Bummer though the part of the country that i live in doesn’t have any Sonics! so sad πŸ™ their Cherry cokes are yumo too!

  18. su on September 25, 2008 at 9:21 pm

Do you have Red Robins in TN? They have onion straws. Absolutely delicious. Salty and greasy. We eat them as an appetizer, even when we’re trying to be good. We follow it with an asian chicken salad to make up for it.

  19. dateague518 on September 26, 2008 at 4:06 am

you are such a GREAT dad!

  20. Kim V on September 26, 2008 at 5:43 am

That sounds exactly like something my hub would do. I am sooo rollin’ my eyes at you.

  21. Cindy on September 28, 2008 at 1:00 pm

Do you have Beth playing on the Wii yet? I bet ya’ll have had a blast this weekend!

  22. Carol Davis on September 28, 2008 at 7:28 pm

BTW, Travis…cheese puffs are considered a veggie. They are orange…like carrots and they are crunchy like them too.
If all else fails, make brownies for supper. That will definitely get you the ‘nicest’ award.

  23. katemcdonald on September 29, 2008 at 8:12 am

Ha! I just stumbled across your blog and got a good kick out of this… reading your blog (as I am starting to do) will probably answer this question, but you travel with your kids? I ask because my husband, Shawn, does music full time and we are trying to figure out how we (myself & our 17 month old son) can start traveling with him without pulling our hair out! I know you are probably really busy, but any advice would be welcomed!

  24. violin3679 on September 29, 2008 at 12:08 pm

I would love to know where you found a beautiful snowy field to pose ever-so-thoughtfully in for the cover of your album in, you know, August. πŸ™‚

  25. Cole Forehand on September 29, 2008 at 5:10 pm

Travis – Remember french fries are from potatoes – a great vegetable! I know you are having a blessed time with the kids – and I also know you are so appreciating Angela and all she does! πŸ™‚
